Saturday Inspiration

...mine wanders to the sandy beaches of Jamaica, to thoughts of my future, and to happy thoughts of my husband.

Where does yours wander to?

This holds true every day, but especially so for me this weekend as I'm working at the hospital all weekend long.

I really, really do feel that my purpose in my life is to help others. If I didn't feel that way, nursing would be a bad career to choose. And so, because I am pulled to help others, I will forever be spending weekends at the hospital, watching my patients eat their three meals every day while I hardly ever get just one, testing the limits of my bladder, and working long hours on a couple of hours of sleep.

And I am so happy to have found my passion. So, so happy!

Our Saturday night plans had to be rescheduled due to friend's case of the stomach flu. You know what that means? After this morning's five mile run, I'm cuddling on the couch in sweats and possibly fitting in a nap. How heavenly.

Happy weekend!

I am enjoying my weekend with Trevor - finally spending some time doing normal weekend things like cleaning, grocery shopping, and working out.

My week was incredibly busy... I picked up extra hours at work and had an exam in each of my classes which meant every minute I wasn't working or sleeping, I had my nose in a textbook or my notes. Thankfully, I have a little reprieve next week before things get super crazy the week of the 11th. If March goes as quickly as last month did, we'll be hearing birds chirp and I'll be running outside in no time!

As for today's inspiration? I am giving myself reasons why I can instead of why I can't. This week has shown that I need a bit of positivity in my life to chase away my blues and the above quote is just the beginning of that positive change.

Happy March and happy weekend!

I'm hoping to elaborate on this idea in a much longer post soon. But there's a reason you haven't heard from me much lately... and sadly, it's not going to be much different in the coming days. Simply put, the current season of my life is not easily allowing me to blog (at all, much less on a regular basis). I recognize that I have some fantastic readers who will read whatever I put out there and will respond with amazing, kind words and I don't want you to think I am abandoning my post here at You.And.Me.Are.We! I have some fun post ideas to share with you soon - posts won't be coming as often as they had been, but I am making a huge effort to write what I can, when I can.

I'm just embracing the current season of my life!

Today is my birthday! And you know what that means? I have a new year ahead of me! Three hundred sixty five days to make an impact on myself, my family, my community, and my world.

Here's to hoping for a year full of nursing school, trying new things, and going on adventures.

This year, I'm going to let my faith be bigger than my fear. I am going to grow. I am going to experience. I am going to get out of my comfort zone.

I am going to rock it!

Trust. It's so much easier to say than do.

Trust yourself, today and always.

Trust so that you are happy to the core.

There's something good in every day! I challenge you to find it. Keep a notebook next to your bed. Every night before you fall asleep, jot down the good you found that day. Reflect back on it, be grateful, and most of all, be positive!

For those who needed to hear this today, remember who you are and where you're going. Sometimes stepping away and taking a break can ignite your inspiration again. Do what you need to do, but stay true to yourself. Keep your eyes on the prize!

For all of you out there struggling with your not-even-one-week-old resolutions...

... stick with it! Get a workout in today, read a new book, write a letter, be more kind, smile at strangers, save money, read the Bible, organize a single room in your home, or anything you vowed to do when you rang in 2013.

It takes 21 days to make a habit of something so don't give up now.

In honor of the new year fast approaching, 2012's last Saturday Inspiration are words to empower as we start a new beginning.

Your slates are wiped clean. You can right any wrongs. You can leave old grudges in the past.
You can be a better person!

We start fresh and new in a few days - what are you going to do to make your new beginning count?

Does anyone else feel like it's too soon for Christmas? It doesn't feel like Christmas is three days away!

I'm working this weekend, but as soon as those 25 hours are over, I'm doing everything I can to get myself in the Christmas spirit. We're going to decorate a big gingerbread house that my parents built {pictures to come!}, bake cookies, eat lots of finger foods, decorate sugar cookies, and most of all just enjoy each other's company.

To help things along, I wanted to share this pin for this week's Saturday Inspiration with hopes it will help a few of you feel a little more love on Christmas morning!

I can't promise I'll be back before things start getting busy {we have Christmas celebrations Sunday through Wednesday} but I am going to try my darnedest to get another Handmade Christmas tutorial posted tomorrow!

Merry Christmas to you and yours from You.And.Me.Are.We!

I'm trying my hardest to laugh really hard at least once a day! I find it makes me feel lighter and puts me in a better head space - a little positivity {why is Google Chrome telling me that's not a word?!?!?!} really helps; especially this time of the year when we're all so busy!

Try laughing next time you're stressed. I promise it'll make a world of difference!

My husband GRADUATES today!!

I am so proud of him and all of the work he has put into this degree. Every time I catch a glimpse of the work he does I am immediately impressed by his brains and how freaking smart he is!

The sheer amount of time he has spent at school this semester is impressive. There have been many, MANY days he has left for school by 7 or 8 in the morning and returned home after 9 at night. We have both agreed to put our lives on hold for this degree and a {hopefully} well paying job. Time is ticking down and so is our bank account. We are more than ready for an adult full time job to come his way!

He still has classes for a couple more weeks but today's graduation is a milestone, that's for sure.

Happy Graduation Day, babe! I love you, love you, love you and I am so proud to call you mine!

So, what are you up to this weekend?

I'm giving it all I've got but I can't do it forever. Thank goodness Trevor will be done with school before Christmas.
Less than a month until I can take care of myself and begin to spend more time with my husband.

Hey, how was your Thanksgiving?!

We spent time with both of our families - it was wonderful.
Instead of shopping yesterday, all seven of us spent an afternoon at a museum and ate delicious Chinese food.
Today, we're back on the productivity train: working on Christmas gifts, running errands, cleaning, baking, and hopefully fitting in some time with friends from high school.

Happy weekend - have you decorated for Christmas yet?
